By now, you might be pretty sure your story sucks. Probably, it does. Everyone’s first draft sucks. No one’s first draft comes out the way they hoped or envisioned it would. It has holes. It’s messy. It’s awkward. But that’s okay. That’s what second and third and fourth drafts are for. The first draft is for learning what the story is about. Subsequent drafts are for fixing it.
