So we know we’re different. We understand that we’re flawed. We mourn that we’re not like everybody else. But here’s the thing: nobody is like everybody else. In fact, I’d go so far as to say there is no Everybody Else. Why? Because everybody feels like they’re the weird one who’s different than everybody else. Which is what leads me to think that the idea that there even is an Everybody Else is a complete fallacy. All of us, even those people who are superbly confident and seem to have it all together, are weirdly flawed.
We’re all Everybody Else.
So that takes away one of the excuses we sometimes use to keep ourselves from acting heroically (that we’re not like Everybody Else). So, yes, we still have it within us to act heroically. But guess what? There are even more ways we sabotage ourselves. Check in tomorrow and we’ll talk about one.
