Hey Siri — Is there some sort of secret to being a hero?

Heroes pay attention. They have a practice of active listening. They’re constantly scanning the information they receive (both external messages and internal ones)  in order to determine whether they match up against their principles. Heroes don’t take anyone else’s word for anything. They do their own thinking, their own seeing, their own feeling. And somehow they never give in to the temptation to consider others as ‘less than’. They seem to understand, instinctively, that beneath our skin, regardless of our age, race, gender, or religion, we’re all the same. They really actually do treat others the way we would all like to be treated.
